Soon after, his father whom he had never met and was in the United States Navy, came to take himself, his mother and newborn sister far from the land he had come to love, leaving his dog behind.
His father was an evil task master, but he learned to survive. He did not return to school until much later. Finding the love of another dog named, Captain Cuno, they spent many days and nights roaming the woods of Milton Florida. Reaching the ninth grade he started playing high school football, which he found to be rewarding. Graduating high school, he was forced to join the Navy by his father. Traveling around the world, including a tour in Viet Nam in 1966, he was stationed in such places as Pensacola Florida, Charleston South Carolina, Charlestown Massachusetts, New Port Rode Island, Philadelphia Pennsylvania and San Diago California.
While stationed in New Port he met his beautiful wife, Patricia. They have now been married for over 57 years. Leaving the Navy he and his wife settled in her hometown of Marshfield Massachusetts. In 1974 he joined the local police force. Through hard work, while receiving a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston, he became a Sergeant of Detectives.
After retiring he became a licensed Private Detective, traveling up and down the Eastern seaboard on investigations. During this time period he became a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnosis and a Nondenominational Minister with the Congregational Church of Practical Theology. After years of writing reports, he has decided to write novels. His first, a memoir Bent Not Broken by J. C. King, was published in 2018. Now he will try his hand at writing fictional crime novels.
