L.M. Loyd was born in Oakland California. At the age of one he was abandoned, by his mother and placed in foster care. Next, he was taken to Madisonville Louisiana where he met the only mother he ever knew. Living a life below poverty level he was running through the swamps barefooted with his dog Red while facing many dangers. At the age of seven he received his first pair of shoes and was placed in a local parochial school. Soon after, his father whom he had never met and was in the United States Navy, came to take himself, his mother and newborn sister far from the land he had come to love, leaving his dog behind.

The Case Of The Missing Heads

The Perriloux Mysteries is the first in a line of crime novels. It is a fictional story in Marshfield, Massachusetts, a quaint fishing village turned into a popular summer retreat from cities as far away as Washington, D.C. The story follows the investigation of a retired Marshfield Detective, turned Private Investigator, Jean-Baptiste Perriloux. The hard-drinking P.I. is hired by the victim’s young college daughter to find the person who killed her mother and father. The police say it was a simple murder/suicide. The P.I. wallows through a swamp of lies, deceit, and murders. In the end, he does what he does best, investigates.
